At Redwing Construction we have set out to create the top regional contractor in the southeast of England focussing on new build, fitting out and refurbishment projects across a wide range of sectors. To ensure that all of our projects receive the required level of control, our initial target is on contracts valued at up to £3m. Sept 2009 Redwing Flying High with Amy Johnson A busy month began with Redwing being awarded a new build education project at Amy Johnson Primary School in Wallington. The school is named after the first female to fly solo from Britain to Australia, a legacy that we look forward to living up to with Project Managers EC Harris. More Successful Handovers Following the fast track fit out of Brookfield Adult Education Centre Redwing are pleased to have handed over the £220,000 project to the London Borough of Hillingdon. The project was completed within the tight 6 week programme and is the third project we have successfully completed for the London Borough of Hillingdon. September also saw the completion of St Pancras Church in Lewes and Atwood Primary School in Sanderstead. The completion of St Pancras Church was celebrated with a bang with approximately 300 people in attendance, including the parish Priest Father Biggerstaff, the Bishop of Arundel and Brighton and great support from the parishioners. Atwood Primary School has also been greatly received and the children are already enjoying the use of their new library and music rooms. We have very much enjoyed working with both project teams and look forward to working with BBM Sustainable Designs and Bell Associates in the future. August 2009 Redwing does Higher Education Following a successful tender Redwing are pleased to have been awarded yet another education project. The project for Goldsmiths in South London consists of the complete refurbishment to commons areas including the orangery as well as existing classrooms. The college itself has a rich heritage originally established in 1891 by the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, it was then acquired by the University of London in 1904. July 2009 Harley Street gets a facelift July saw work start at two separate projects in London’s Harley Street. The first project consists of refurbishment and fit out works, converting the basement of a Grade II listed building to provide additional treatment rooms for a cosmetic surgery. The second a commercial refurbishment again in a Grade II listed building, for a laser eye correction company. June 2009 London Borough of Hillingdon Double! Following a concerted effort with the credit crunch in mind to increase our market share in the public sector, Redwing has successfully been awarded two new projects with the London Borough of Hillingdon. The first an extension to Pinkwell Primary School, the second a refurbishment of Brookfield Adult Learning Centre in Uxbridge. We are looking forward to working with the London Borough of Hillingdon once again following the successful completion of two previous projects. Accounts Published The Redwing annual accounts year ending September 2008 have now been published, to view please click here March 2009 Atwood Primary School Redwing continue to build on their extensive experience within the education sector. March has seen us awarded a £270,000 extension at Atwood Primary School in Sanderstead, Surrey. December 2008 Building Design Magazine Following its completion our project at The Museum of Garden History is drawing a lot of attention, featuring in the December issue of Building Design Magazine, with a four page spread. November 2008 Yet another brace for Redwing The last two months have seen Redwing awarded two exciting new projects, both won through competitive tendering. The first, St Pancras Church a £650,000 church annex in Lewes, East Sussex. The second, our first project with Surrey County Council, a £1,000,000 conversion of Old Horley Fire Station into a youth centre for the local area. July 2008 The Garden History Museum We are delighted to have been appointed main contractor by The Museum of Garden History for their £350,000 alteration project. The museum is located in St Marys Church, built in the 14th century it was deconsecrated in the 1970’s, and finally became home to the museum in 1981. March 2008 Contract brace for Redwing We are very pleased to announce that we have secured two exciting projects this month. The first is a fully negotiated £2.8m scheme for the new build of two very high quality residential properties in London NW7. The second project is a £650,000 refurbishment of an industrial unit at The Birches Industrial Estate in East Grinstead. In each case our client is a major international financial institution. February 2008 Constructionline Registration Redwing are now fully registered with Constructionline. This will enable us to further expand our portfolio of clients in the fields of education, healthcare, social housing and local authority work. January 2008 Further work at the Strand We are very pleased to announce that we have secured a prestigious £2,000,000 refurbishment and fit out project for the Government of Gibraltar in their new premises in the Strand, London. The scheme comprises the high quality fit out of six floors including Ambassador’s suite, board room, presentation rooms and offices. December 2007 RIBA Architectural Review Our recently completed project at Spindle Way, Crawley has been selected by the RIBA to feature in the 2008 South East Architecture Review. The design and build scheme, working with major local architects RDjW, involved the construction of two light industrial units. October 2007 Profits declared for second year of trading The directors of Redwing Construction are pleased to announce that the company has traded profitably and with strong cash flow in the year to March 2007. October 2007 Redwing on the move As part of the continued development of the company, the directors are delighted to announce that Redwing Construction have today moved into new premises in the prestigious Amberley Court development in Whitworth Road, Crawley. September 2007 £1m London refurbishment double for Redwing The directors of Redwing Construction are pleased to announce that the company has secured two exciting refurbishment schemes in central London. The office refurbishment projects in Grosvenor Crescent and the Strand are for an international petroleum company and a major international property company respectively. May 2007 Brian Poole joins Redwing We are delighted to announce that Brian Poole has joined Redwing as business development manager. In the words of his famous namesake, Brian has already promised that “even the bad times will be good”. April 2007 New team joins Redwing As part of the plan to develop our company into the top regional contractor in the south east, the directors of Redwing Construction are very pleased to announce that David Turrell and Jim Withers have joined the company to create a new operational team in our Crawley office. Prior to joining Redwing, David was construction director of a regional contractor, whilst Jim was a quantity surveyor with a major international contractor having previously worked closely with our commercial director Vince Callari. We are delighted that both David and Jim have joined Redwing and we are confident that they will form a very strong team and will play an integral role in helping us to achieve our long term plans. March 2007 New build project secured Redwing Construction have been awarded a £450,000 project to construct new commercial premises in Spindle Way, Crawley for a major regional property company. March 2007 Education, Education, Education (again) for Redwing The directors of Redwing Construction are pleased to announce the award of another hat trick of education projects. Following the very successful completion of a new build maths block in 2006 for Bishopshalt School, we have secured an £800,000 scheme for the refurbishment of the science block for the school. We have also secured a repeat business project for the refurbishment of workshops and chapel for the London Oratory School and a scheme for the refurbishment of workshops and computer rooms for Brighton College. February 2007 Fit out double for Redwing The Redwing Construction directors have promised valentines day champagne for their long suffering wives following the award of fitting out projects for the Hyde Housing Association in London and KBC Bank in Sussex. December 2006 Vince Callari joins Redwing Board The directors of Redwing Construction are delighted to announce the appointment of Vince Callari as the company’s commercial director. Vince is a highly experienced quantity surveyor and has joined us from a major international contractor where he was regional managing surveyor. September 2006 Restaurant Gordon Ramsay re-opens on time Following an extensive £800,000 refurbishment carried out by Redwing Construction, Gordon Ramsay’s flagship restaurant, the only establishment in London holding three Michelin stars, has reopened today as scheduled. The project was handed over on time despite a very tight programme and a 27% increase in the scope of the works. July 2006 Back to school for Redwing Redwing Construction has been awarded a £150,000 project to refurbish part of Churchill Gardens Primary School in Westminster during the summer break. The company completed a similar scheme during the summer of 2005 in the school. July 2006 Further fit out success for Redwing The directors of Redwing Construction are pleased to announce the award of two further fitting out schemes for Bishops Cavanagh Ltd in Redhill and the Beacon School in Sutton. Those awards follow a hat trick of fitting out projects awarded in June. Managing director Steve Pope explained that “the Redwing team includes some of the most experienced and respected experts in the fitting out market, which has been a major factor in this run of successes. I am particularly pleased that Beacon School gives us a chance to combine our expertise in fitting out and education projects”. June 2006 Fit out hat trick for Redwing Whilst the top strikers in the world are struggling to score in Germany, the Redwing team are celebrating a hat trick of fitting out successes with the award of projects in London by Swarovski Ltd and Edcoms Ltd and in Redhill by Pentasia Ltd.
